Model Dies of Amputations

Brazilian model Mariana Bridi da Costa, whose hands and feet were amputated in a bid to save her from a deadly and little-known illness, died early Saturday. She was resisting an illness and couldn't any more, it was highly destructive disease known as necrosis, or a fast deadening of tissue due to septicemia. It causes insufficient blood flow that leads to organ failure which is why doctors decided to amputate first her hands and then her feet after to reduce the amount of oxygen being delivered to her limbs. It is pretty disturbing how they amputated so much to stop the disease even if she made it, it would be a pretty gruesome sight.
